Hi Everyone,
It’s Hope Yoder and I would like to help guide you through two BASIC principals for flawless crazy quilting. It’s all about line angles and the center 5-sided piece. Remember the movie “Buzz Lightyear”? What was his famous line? If you guessed, “To INFINITY and beyond” you are correct.
What do Buzz Lightyear and crazy quilting have in common? Watch the video and then please tell me in the comments below.
Crazy quilting is a great addition to add to your blocks when making a quilt, table runner or wall hanging. I love using this technique on purses and home dec.
Below is a picture of one of our hands-on event projects in the form of a sampler technique pillow. In the center piece, we added some machine embroidery. Notice we did a very small square of crazy quilting which only included going around the center 5-sided piece one time instead of trying to fill a large foundation piece like shown in the video.
So next time you are trying to either fill a large space or a small space, think of CRAZY QUILTING.
To add even more, sew decorative stitches over the seams on the right side using a tearaway stabilizer. Why use stabilizer? It prevents tunneling. See the product video HERE.
